MVD ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein mevalonate diphosphate decarboxylase, which is encoded by the MVD gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the ATP dependent decarboxylation of (R)-5-diphosphomevalonate to form isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 400 residues, a mass of 43.4 kDa, and is a member of the Diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm and is found to be expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, lung, liver, brain, pancreas, kidney and placenta. The MVD gene has been associated with the disease, Porokeratosis. Other alias names for this target include MDDase, MPD, POROK7, diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase, mevalonate (diphospho) decarboxylase, and FP17780.
Some MVD ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 78 pg/mL and as high as 100 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
