Functionally, this protein is known to be a component of centriolar satellites contributing to the building of a complex and dynamic network required to regulate cilia/flagellum formation. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 1083 residues, a mass of 122.1 kDa, and is a member of the CEP131 protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally ubiquitinated and phosphorylated. Other alias names for this target include AZI1, ZA1, centrosomal protein of 131 kDa, 5-azacytidine induced 1, 5-azacytidine-induced protein 1, and AZ1.
