Ready-to-use ELISA kits are available for the detection of cysteine conjugate-beta lyase 1, an alias of the protein, kynurenine aminotransferase 1. The official gene symbol is KYAT1. The protein, with a mass of 47.9 kDa and length of 422 residues, is reported to be cytoplasmic. It is a member of the Class-I pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family and may be known by other names, including: glutamine transaminase K, cysteine-S-conjugate beta-lyase, cysteine conjugate-beta lyase cytoplasmic, cysteine conjugate beta lyase 1, beta-lysase kidney, and kynurenine--oxoglutarate transaminase 1, and glutamine-phenylpyruvate aminotransferase.
