Its subcellular location is known to be in the cytoplasm. In addition, it is reported to be expressed in skeletal muscle, fetal liver and embryonic carcinoma cell line NT2-D1. This protein may also be known as sialidase-2, N-acetyl-alpha-neuraminidase 2, cytosolic sialidase, sialidase 2 (cytosolic sialidase), and SIAL2.
