Anti-PYURF antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PIGY upstream open reading frame. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 114 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. A member of the PREY protein family, PYURF is known to be involved with protein stabilization. Synonyms for this target antigen include NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase complex assembly factor Q, PIGY upstream reading frame protein, and protein preY, mitochondrial. PYURF gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species. Immunohistochemistry is the most common application for the PYURF antibodies listed below. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
