Anti-TGN48 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TGN48 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TGOLN2 gene, which encodes trans-golgi network protein 2. This protein is suspected to be involved in regulating membrane traffic to and from trans-Golgi network. The human version of TGN48 has a canonical amino acid length of 437 residues and a protein mass of 45.9 kilodaltons, although 6 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi and cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include TGN38, TGN38, and TGN46. Some TGN48 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
