Anti-Toss antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Toss antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the KCNK6 gene, which encodes potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 6. This protein is known to function in potassium ion transport and the transport of ions, among other biological roles. The human version of Toss has a canonical amino acid length of 313 residues and a protein mass of 33.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include K2p6.1 and KCNK8. Indicated applications for Toss antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
