Anti-SCAM-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SCAM-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SORBS3 gene, which encodes sorbin and SH3 domain containing 3. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and MAPK cascade signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of SCAM-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 671 residues and a protein mass of 75.3 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the heart muscle and skeletal muscle.
