Anti-TM-8 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TM-8 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TSPAN16 gene, which encodes tetraspanin 16. The human version of TM-8 has a canonical amino acid length of 245 residues and a protein mass of 26.3 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in the testis, ovary, and kidney. TM-8 is a member of the Tetraspanin (TM4SF) protein family.
