Anti-SYM antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SYM antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SYMPK gene, which encodes symplekin scaffold protein. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of SYM has a canonical amino acid length of 1274 residues and a protein mass of 141.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include Pta1 and SPK. Indicated applications for SYM antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
