Anti-PPP4 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PPP4 is a known alias name of the protein protein phosphatase 4 catalytic subunit, encoded by the PPP4C gene in humans. This 307-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a protein phosphatase that is involved in many processes such as microtubule organization at centrosomes, maturation of spliceosomal snRNPs, apoptosis, DNA repair, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha signaling, activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase MAPK8, regulation of histone acetylation, DNA damage checkpoint signaling, NF-kappa-B activation and cell migration. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PPP4 include PP-X, PP4, and PP4C.
