Anti-P450C17 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target P450C17 is a known alias name of the protein cytochrome P450 family 17 subfamily A member 1, encoded by the CYP17A1 gene in humans. This 508-amino acid residue protein is a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase involved in corticoid and androgen biosynthesis. It is localized to the ER of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the adrenal gland and testis. Other synonyms for P450C17 include CPT7 and CYP17. Western Blot is the most common application for the P450C17 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
