Anti-Mr-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Mr-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PNKD gene, which encodes PNKD metallo-beta-lactamase domain containing. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of Mr-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 385 residues and a protein mass of 42.9 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane, nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Mr-1 is a member of the Glyoxalase II protein family.
