Anti-NRBF1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target NRBF1 is a known alias name of the protein mitochondrial trans-2-enoyl-CoA reductase, encoded by the MECR gene in humans. This 373-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the NADPH-dependent reduction of trans-2-enoyl thioesters in mitochondrial fatty acid synthesis (fatty acid synthesis type II). It is localized to the nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in skeletal and heart muscle. Other synonyms for NRBF1 include CGI-63, DYTOABG, and ETR1.
