Anti-MULAN antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MULAN antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MUL1 gene, which encodes mitochondrial E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and the regulation of cell growth, among other biological roles. The human version of MULAN has a canonical amino acid length of 352 residues and a protein mass of 39.8 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells.
