Anti-MPRP-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MPRP-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the OMA1 gene, which encodes OMA1 zinc metallopeptidase. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of MPRP-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 524 residues and a protein mass of 60.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow, vagina, and appendix. MPRP-1 is a member of the Peptidase M48 protein family.
