Anti-FLCL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the FLCL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FLCN gene, which encodes folliculin. This protein is known to function in in utero embryonic development, among other biological roles. The human version of FLCL has a canonical amino acid length of 579 residues and a protein mass of 64.5 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. FLCL is a member of the Folliculin protein family.
