Anti-lah antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the lah antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the DSG4 gene, which encodes desmoglein 4. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and hair follicle development, among other biological roles. The human version of lah has a canonical amino acid length of 1040 residues and a protein mass of 113.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified.
