Anti-hng antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The hng antigen is another term for the human protein neurogranin, encoded by the NRGN gene. The protein is known to act as a 'third messenger' substrate of protein kinase C-mediated molecular cascades during synaptic development and remodeling. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 78 residues and a mass of 7.6 kilodaltons. It is expressed in the lung, kidney, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and caudate. The hng protein is a member of the Neurogranin protein family. Other alias names for hng include RC3 and calmodulin-binding protein.
