Anti-GLCNAC-TI antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the GLCNAC-TI antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MGAT1 gene, which encodes alpha-1,3-mannosyl-glycoprotein 2-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase. This protein is known to function in in utero embryonic development, among other biological roles. The human version of GLCNAC-TI has a canonical amino acid length of 445 residues and a protein mass of 50.9 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bronchus, stomach, and adrenal gland. Other names for this target antigen include GLCT1 and GLYT1.
