Anti-Abh6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Abh6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ALKBH6 gene, which encodes alkB homolog 6. This protein is a suspected dioxygenase that requires molecular oxygen, alpha-ketoglutarate and iron. The human version of Abh6 has a canonical amino acid length of 238 residues and a protein mass of 26.5 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells. Abh6 is a member of the AlkB protein family.
