Anti-COL26A1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein collagen type XXVI alpha 1 chain. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 441 amino acid residues and a mass of 45.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is secreted. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the colon and skin. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include EMI domain containing 2, collagen, type XXVI, alpha 1, emilin and multimerin domain-containing protein 2, and collagen alpha-1(XXVI) chain. COL26A1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the COL26A1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
