Anti-E48 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the E48 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LY6D gene, which encodes lymphocyte antigen 6 family member D. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and lymphocyte differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of E48 has a canonical amino acid length of 128 residues and a protein mass of 13.3 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the tonsil, skin, oral mucosa, esophagus, and cervix.
