Anti-BG1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target BG1 is a known alias name of the protein acyl-CoA synthetase bubblegum family member 1, encoded by the ACSBG1 gene in humans. This 724-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the conversion of fatty acids such as long-chain and very long-chain fatty acids to their active form acyl-CoAs for both synthesis of cellular lipids, and degradation via beta-oxidation. It is localized to the cell membrane, cytoplasmic vesicles, ER, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the brain. Indicated applications for BG1 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
