Anti-AHCP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the AHCP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FAM8A1 gene, which encodes family with sequence similarity 8 member A1. This protein is reported to play a role in the assembly of the HRD1 complex, a complex involved in the ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent process of ER-associated degradation (ERAD). The human version of AHCP has a canonical amino acid length of 413 residues and a protein mass of 44.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and cerebral cortex.
