Anti-HGFIN antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The HGFIN antigen is another term for the human protein glycoprotein nmb, encoded by the GPNMB gene. The protein is suspected to be a melanogenic enzyme. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 572 residues and a mass of 63.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is reported to be widely expressed, but very low expression, if any, in the brain. The HGFIN protein is a member of the PMEL/NMB protein family. Other alias names for HGFIN include NMB and PLCA3.
