Anti-TBM antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The TBM antigen is another term for the human protein mucin 5AC, oligomeric mucus/gel-forming, encoded by the MUC5AC gene. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 5654 residues and a mass of 585.6 kilodaltons. It is a secreted protein and it is reported to be highly expressed in surface mucosal cells of respiratory tract and stomach epithelia. Other alias names for TBM include MUC5 and leB. Some TBM antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
