Anti-BOP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein BOP1 ribosomal biogenesis factor. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 746 amino acid residues and a mass of 83.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the breast, testis, and adrenal gland. A member of the WD repeat BOP1/ERB1 protein family, BOP1 is a known component of the PeBoW complex, which is required for maturation of 28S and 5.8S ribosomal RNAs and formation of the 60S ribosome. Synonyms for this target antigen include ribosome biogenesis protein BOP1 and block of proliferation 1. BOP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of BOP1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
