Anti-BM-40 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BM-40 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SPARC gene, which encodes secreted protein acidic and cysteine rich. This protein is known to function in the regulation of angiogenesis, among other biological roles. The human version of BM-40 has a canonical amino acid length of 303 residues and a protein mass of 34.6 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and cerebellum. This target antigen may also be known as OI17. Western Blot is the most common application for the BM-40 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
