Anti-DCI antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the DCI antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ECI1 gene, which encodes enoyl-CoA delta isomerase 1. The human version of DCI has a canonical amino acid length of 302 residues and a protein mass of 32.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. DCI is a member of the Enoyl-CoA hydratase/isomerase protein family.
