Anti-VSTM3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target VSTM3 is a known alias name of the protein T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains, encoded by the TIGIT gene in humans. This 244-amino acid residue protein is known to bind with high affinity to the poliovirus receptor (PVR) which causes increased secretion of IL10 and decreased secretion of IL12B and suppresses T-cell activation by promoting the generation of mature immunoregulatory dendritic cells. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed at low levels on peripheral memory and regulatory CD4+ T-cells and NK cells and is up-regulated following activation of these cells.
