Anti-Lipoprotein lipase antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LPL gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 475 amino acid residues and a mass of 53.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix, cell membrane, and is also secreted. It is notably expressed in blood plasma. A member of the Lipase protein family, it is known to be a key enzyme in triglyceride metabolism. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include LIPD, phospholipase A1, and HDLCQ11.
