Anti-Canstatin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Canstatin is a known alias name of the protein collagen type IV alpha 2 chain, encoded by the COL4A2 gene in humans. This 1712-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in pathways of aging and angiogenesis, among other biological processes. It is localized to the extracellular matrix and is secreted of the cell and features cleaved and glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the placenta and skin. Other synonyms for Canstatin include BSVD2, ICH, and POREN2. Western Blot is the most common application for the Canstatin antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
