Anti-fibrillin-3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FBN3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 2809 amino acid residues and a mass of 300.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is also secreted. It is reported to be highly expressed in the connective tissues such as skeletal muscle, tendon, skin, perichondrium and periosteum. The fibrillin 3 protein is a member of the Fibrillin protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation.
