Anti-Sialidase 1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Sialidase 1 is a known alias name of the protein neuraminidase 1, encoded by the NEU1 gene in humans. This 415-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the removal of sialic acid (N-acetylneuraminic acid) moieties from glycoproteins and glycolipids. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles, lysosomes, and cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the pancreas, followed by skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, heart, lung and liver. Other synonyms for Sialidase 1 include NANH, NEU, and SIAL1. Indicated applications for Sialidase 1 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
