Anti-HIPK4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein homeodomain interacting protein kinase 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 616 amino acid residues and a mass of 69.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of the CMGC Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family, HIPK4 is reported to be a protein kinase that phosphorylates human TP53 at Ser-9, and thus induces TP53 repression of BIRC5 promoter (By similarity). Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. HIPK4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for HIPK4 antibodies.
