Anti-MCEMP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mast cell expressed membrane protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 187 amino acid residues and a mass of 21.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is notably expressed in mast cells. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include epididymis secretory sperm binding protein. MCEMP1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some MCEMP1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
