The target Vigilin is a known alias name of the protein high density lipoprotein binding protein, encoded by the HDLBP gene in humans. This 1268-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological processes.
