Anti-RHAMM antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the RHAMM antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HMMR gene, which encodes hyaluronan mediated motility receptor. This protein is a known receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) (By similarity). The human version of RHAMM has a canonical amino acid length of 724 residues and a protein mass of 84.1 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the placenta and testis. Other names for this target antigen include CD168, CD168, and IHABP. Western Blot is the most common application for the RHAMM antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
