Anti-Ubxd6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Ubxd6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the UBXN8 gene, which encodes UBX domain protein 8. This protein is known to be involved in endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) for misfolded lumenal proteins, possibly by tethering VCP to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. The human version of Ubxd6 has a canonical amino acid length of 270 residues and a protein mass of 30.5 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include D8S2298E and REP8.
