Anti-Hsd3b antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Hsd3b antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HSD3B2 gene, which encodes hydroxy-delta-5-steroid dehydrogenase, 3 beta- and steroid delta-isomerase 2. This protein is known to function in brain development, among other biological roles. The human version of Hsd3b has a canonical amino acid length of 372 residues and a protein mass of 42.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria and ER of cells and notably expressed in the adrenal gland and testis. Hsd3b is a member of the 3-beta-HSD protein family.
