Anti-GBP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the GBP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TMEM132A gene, which encodes transmembrane protein 132A. This protein is believed to play a role in embryonic and postnatal development of the brain. The human version of GBP has a canonical amino acid length of 1023 residues and a protein mass of 110.1 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER and Golgi of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bronchus and cerebellum. GBP is a member of the TMEM132 protein family.
