Anti-GM3 Synthase antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The GM3 Synthase antigen is another term for the human protein ST3 beta-galactoside alpha-2,3-sialyltransferase 5, encoded by the ST3GAL5 gene. The protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and protein glycosylation, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 418 residues and a mass of 48 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi and it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. The GM3 Synthase protein is a member of the Glycosyltransferase 29 protein family. Other alias names for GM3 Synthase include SATI, SATI, and SIAT9.
