Anti-TAO1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TAO1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TAOK2 gene, which encodes TAO kinase 2. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization and the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of TAO1 has a canonical amino acid length of 1235 residues and a protein mass of 138.3 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, cytoplasmic vesicles, and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the colon, testis, and cerebral cortex. TAO1 is a member of the STE Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family.
