Anti-CD278 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CD278 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ICOS gene, which encodes inducible T cell costimulator. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and immune response pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of CD278 has a canonical amino acid length of 199 residues and a protein mass of 22.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in the lymph node and tonsil. The CD278 marker has been described in the characterization of T Follicular Helper Cells.* Other names for this target antigen include AILIM and CVID1.
