Anti-pen-2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target pen-2 is a known alias name of the protein presenilin enhancer, gamma-secretase subunit, encoded by the PSENEN gene in humans. This 101-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an essential subunit of the gamma-secretase complex, an endoprotease complex that catalyzes the intramembrane cleavage of integral membrane proteins such as Notch receptors and APP (amyloid-beta precursor protein). It is localized to the ER, Golgi, and cell membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types. Indicated applications for pen-2 antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
