Anti-xylosyltransferase I antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target xylosyltransferase I is a known alias name of the protein xylosyltransferase 1, encoded by the XYLT1 gene in humans. This 959-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the first step in the biosynthesis of chondroitin sulfate and dermatan sulfate proteoglycans, such as DCN. It is localized to the Golgi and is secreted of the cell and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for xylosyltransferase I include beta-D-xylosyltransferase 1, peptide O-xylosyltransferase 1, and xylosyltransferase I.
