Anti-stereocilin antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the STRC gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1775 amino acid residues and a mass of 193 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. A member of the Stereocilin protein family, it is known to be involved with cell matrix adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation.
