Anti-PTX4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pentraxin 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 478 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.3 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is found to be widely expressed at low levels with highest levels in small intestine, testis and brain. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include neuronal pentraxin-like protein C16orf38, pentraxin 4, long, and long pentraxin 4. PTX4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. These PTX4 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
