Anti-ALG6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ALG6 alpha-1,3-glucosyltransferase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 507 amino acid residues and a mass of 58.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. It is a member of the ALG6/ALG8 glucosyltransferase protein family. The ALG6 gene has been associated with the disease, Congenital disorder of glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include dolichyl pyrophosphate Man9GlcNAc2 alpha-1,3-glucosyltransferase, Man(9)GlcNAc(2)-PP-Dol alpha-1,3-glucosyltransferase, asparagine-linked glycosylation 6 homolog (S. cerevisiae, alpha-1,3-glucosyltransferase), and CDG1C. ALG6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the ALG6 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
